The Fashion weeks are over for a few months and it’s sad to not be logging in to Style .com or Fashionista to look at all the beautiful clothes being shown on the runways. I have been going over some of the images and I am amazed at how many capes were still being shown at the Pre Fall and Fall collections in every fabric imaginable. Every label seems to have done at least one cape in it’s collection. There are tulle ones, organza ones, woolen ones, brocade ones, fur ones and lace ones. They are still very much with us and I think I will have to find one this coming Fall. Here are a few of the images from style.com
I love the big hood on this Oscar de la Renta cape, it looks very Red Riding Hoodish.
I love the idea of a satin or velvet cape for evening instead of the usual coat or jacket.
There are a few cape patterns at Tessuit Fabrics if you wanted to choose a beautiful fabric and make your own .
I think I have underestimated how much camouflage is going to be with us this Winter. Because it has been around for so many seasons, I didn’t think we would have it so strongly again so you can dust off your old jacket or if you have never dipped your toe into camouflage jacket pool before, now might be a good time to try it. There are jackets being done by everyone from Target to Charlie Brown.
I have been feeling a bit out of sorts this week and when I saw this video on a friends Facebook page and it cheered me up a bit, I thought I would share it. It’s amazing what music and dance can do to lift your spirits, these Zimbabwean people don’t seem from the video to have much but the music brings them running and they all dance together with such pleasure and abandon that you have to smile when you see it. Well, you don’t have to but I did. Maybe we all need a little dance in our lives!
