‘ “I’ve got my feet on the ground, but this collection is up-to-earth, not down-to-earth.” While he was speaking, Karl Lagerfeld was strategically placed under the massive globe that majestically revolved, center stage, during the Chanel presentation this morning. So the only way to earth was, in fact, up.
The scale of the house’s ready-to-wear presentations has often seemed like a metaphor in itself, and today, with the globe that revolved before our eyes, dotted with hundreds of logo-ed flags showing the location of every Chanel shop, it was even more suggestive.’ Style.com
I love the little globe bags some of the models carried that continued the earth/globe theme of the collection. I also loved the fur caps were also supposed to be little copies of Anna Wintour’s iconic bob and the beautiful glitter eyes. As usual it is an amazing collection that transports you into the magical wonderful world of Chanel.
According to Fashionista.com, it seems that peplums are still with us for Fall 13 so it stands to reason that we will probably see them this winter and coming summer as well. I like them, they can be feminine and flattering for all figure types.
All the peplums shown at the Fall collections were very structured, almost tailored and had a lot of texture or prints. There are a few peplums in the stores that are reflecting this look at the moment.
Although they are not structured and are in fact more like a t shirt, I really like the cotton light rib peplum tops in Target at the moment. I was wandering through there the other day when I saw them and they are such a good price that I bought a few different colours.
I thought this top at Veronica Maine is interesting and is a bit more exciting than the usual sweater or long sleeve top. The colours are lovely together and the fit is great, not too tight but with enough shape.
I loved these two looks from Paris Fashion week. The bracelets are wooden and make a huge impact when a whole lot are worn together. Dinosaur Designs have beautiful resin bracelets that look amazing together.
