I have just noticed that this post did not come out on Monday morning as usual. I have no idea what happened but I am looking into it! So sorry about that.
A lot of stores have finished with their sales and have started bringing in Spring merchandise. Because I am a bit obsessed with the colour, I noticed Witchery and Ted Baker have both opened the season with a bit of ballet pink. I am sure as more labels start bringing in their new stock more and more pink will emerge. I also noticed a lot of white. People always open Spring with it and it always makes a beautiful statement but I still think it is better to bring it in later in the season when everyone has had a chance to get a little sun. White on white winter skin can be a difficult look to pull off. I love the Ted Baker prints with their slightly discordant colours against pale pink.
I was asked to feature more sort of ‘do it yourself ‘ posts, so with this in mind, I was looking for sequins in the Chatswood Bead shop the other day when I noticed this lovely mock metallic gold trim. It reminded me a bit of what Sass and Bide seem to do a lot of so I bought half a meter to play around with. It’s not exactly cheap, $12 for 50 cms but it’s quite wide and there is so much you can do with it. I tried it out on a long sleeved black t shirt but you could put it on any colour and on anything, skirt hems, coat or jacket collars and cuffs. I didn’t actually attach it to the t shirt because I wanted to see how many different ways it could be used.
I thought this Valentino Couture collection was absolutely stunning. It is elegant and timeless and transported me into another world.[youtube.com/watch?v=1To_SPXj1Og]
